Chicago Public Radio

Chicago Public Radio, otherwise known as WBEZ, contracted APS in February 2007 to help with their custom content managment application, search engine needs, and project management.

Chicago Public Radio contracted out to Abbott Professional Services in 2007 and sustained a two year relationship that resulted in great improvements to the company’s web presence. APS was instrumental in customizing our Content Management System used in bringing on-air content to the web and providing a rich archive of stories from around Chicagoland to our growing listener base. More importantly, the customizations to our CMS made it easier for internal staff to publish their rich media content. APS made improvements to our online Pledge system that have resulted in a tipping point where more than half of all member donations now come through our web portal driving the down the cost of our on-air campaigns. APS also worked diligently on search engine optimization that have improved the visibility of Chicago Public Radio on the web resulting in a significant increase in daily web traffic. Beyond optimization work, they played a critical role in helping the organization migrate to a new CDN provider for streaming audio services ensuing in long term savings for the company while positioning us to meet our listener’s needs as they ingest more content via smartphones and internet enabled radios. APS developers and project managers showed strong communication skills and their ability to document their processes have been helpful in sustaining our growth trajectory.
